What we cover
The 2026-27 syllabus has seven units worth 80 board marks. Standard and Basic share this content; the papers differ in how deeply they test it.

The distance formula and the section formula for internal division, used for lengths, midpoints and dividing points. Most errors are sign slips or a ratio applied back to front.

Similar triangles, the Basic Proportionality Theorem with its proof, the similarity criteria, and two tangent theorems proved in full. Pupils who know every result still lose marks by skipping a reason.

Ratios of an acute angle, values from 0° to 90°, identities built on sin²A + cos²A = 1, and heights and distances with at most two right triangles. An unlabelled diagram is the usual trap.

Areas of sectors and segments, with segments kept to central angles of 60°, 90° and 120°, and surface areas and volumes of two joined solids. Counting a hidden face is the classic slip.

Constructions, the frustum and ogives are absent from the 2026-27 syllabus, so older guidebooks can send a learner revising unexamined chapters.
How lessons run
Class X moves quickly from the first periodic test to pre-boards and the board paper. Lessons keep pace with your child's school and the Qatari week.
The first lessons use a short mixed paper across all seven units, plus recent school tests, to show which chapters are secure, which need reteaching, and whether Standard or Basic suits the target.
The plan follows the order your child's school teaches the NCERT textbook, with extra time before periodic tests and pre-boards. Sessions sit on school nights after homework or on Friday and Saturday, the Qatari weekend.
Each topic is understood first, then written the way an examiner reads it: given, reason, conclusion. The marking scheme gives half marks for steps such as naming the AA criterion, so every line counts.
Timed work covers all five sections, the assertion-reason items and the four-mark case studies, always without a calculator. Your child learns to pick between internal choices quickly and keep the final minutes for checking.
Brief written notes on progress go to the family after lessons, and a parent may join the call to watch. Before the board examination the tutor revisits the weakest units and any internal assessment work still due.
Lessons use whichever of Teams, Google Meet or Zoom suits your household, WhatsApp is kept for messages, and Ramadan scheduling tracks each year's announced hours.

The subject is marked out of 100: an 80-mark board paper and 20 marks of school-based internal assessment. Standard and Basic cover one syllabus at different levels of demand.

Class X has two board examinations a year. The first is compulsory. The optional second lets a pupil who passed improve up to three of science, mathematics, social science and languages.
